Forums>New Forum

When creating a new forum on the backend, the new forum you are creating has a “Forum Attributes” section located on the top right corner of the interface. This documents explains what those forum attributes are.

Forum attributes

Type: Forum vs. Category

‘Category’ contains forums whereas A ‘Forum’ will contain topics.

If you select ‘Category’ the website gets a forum that does not have topics and does not have an option to add new topics.

If you select ‘Forum’ the website gets a forum that has topics and options to add new topics.

These two concepts allow you to categorise forums.

Status: Open vs. Closed

Conversations are allowed for ‘Open’ and disabled for ‘Closed’

Visibility: Public vs. Private vs. Hidden
